I spent 6 glorious weeks hopping around southern Thailand and soaking up everything from beach life to big-city buzz. Here's my full itinerary—tailored for those who want a little bit of everything.
This 6-week Thailand itinerary is the perfect mix of island hopping, cultural exploration, and city thrills. Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or as a couple, it hits all the best parts of Thailand without rushing the magic.

Day 1-7 Phuket
Day 8-10 Khao Lak
Day 11-13 Koh Phi Phi
Day 14-16 Ao Nang
Day 17-20 Koh Samui
Day 21-23 Koh Tao
Day 24-26 Hua Hin
Day 27-30 Pattaya
Day 31-41 Bangkok
Please Note : With this being my first time travelling to Thailand i focused mainly on Beaches,islands and Snorkeling. This Itinerary can be changed with other places like going North for Chiang Mai etc etc.

Stop 1: Phuket – 7 Days
Tropical energy + beach meets city vibes
Phuket is the perfect starting point. It’s vibrant, chaotic in the best way, and full of everything: beaches, markets, nightlife, and activities.
What to do:
Relax at Kata or Nai Harn Beach
Visit the massive Big Buddha and get blessed at Wat Chalong
Take a longtail boat to Coral Island or Koh Hae
Wander through the colorful streets of Old Phuket Town
Catch a sunset at Promthep Cape
Tip: Stay in Kata or Karon if you want beach vibes with access to great food and chill nights. Patong is for nightlife lovers.
Stop 2: Khao Lak – 3 Days
Laid-back coastal charm
Just a couple of hours north of Phuket, Khao Lak is all about serenity, sandy stretches, and some of the best snorkeling spots in the region.
What to do:
Take a day trip to the Similan Islands (incredible for diving!)
Unwind at White Sand Beach
Visit the Tsunami Memorial Museum
Tour to Breath taking Surin Islands
Vibe check: This is your time to slow down. Let your body catch up with your mind before the island-hopping begins.
Stop 3: Koh Phi Phi – 3 Days
Island paradise + party energy
Next, ferry over to the iconic Koh Phi Phi—where turquoise waters and dramatic cliffs meet backpacker nightlife.
What to do:
Hike up to the Phi Phi Viewpoint (the photo op is chef's kiss)
Snorkel around Maya Bay and Loh Samah Bay
Chill at Long Beach during the day
Hit up a beach party or watch fire dancers at night
Heads up: It’s busy and lively—ideal for a mix of nature and nightlife.
Stop 4: Ao Nang – 3 Days
Adventure meets coastal beauty
Just a short boat ride from Phi Phi, Ao Nang in Krabi Province is your base for exploring more jaw-dropping landscapes and epic beach spots.
What to do:
Take a boat to Railay Beach (you have to see Phra Nang Cave Beach!)
Kayak through mangroves or rock climb on limestone cliffs
Join an island-hopping tour (4 Islands is a classic)
Tip: Ao Nang is super walkable, with great food, and easy day-trip access to everything.
Stop 5: Koh Samui – 4 Days
Upscale relaxation with a local twist
Over on the Gulf side, Koh Samui is polished, full of charm, and offers something for every kind of traveler.
What to do:
Explore the waterfalls: Na Muang 1 & 2
Visit the Big Buddha Temple and Wat Plai Laem
Spend an evening at Fisherman’s Village in Bophut
Unwind with a beach massage on Lamai Beach
Pro tip: Rent a scooter and explore the quieter side of the island for a change of pace.
Stop 6: Koh Tao – 3 Days
The diving island dream
Hop over to Koh Tao, a cozy island famous for scuba diving, chill beaches, and next-level sunsets.
What to do:
Snorkel in Ao Leuk, Hin Wong, or Shark Bay
Get your PADI certification (it’s one of the cheapest places in the world!)
Hike to the John-Suwan Viewpoint
Enjoy sunset cocktails at Sky Bar or Cape Shark
Don’t miss: Even if you’re not into diving, the snorkeling here is unbeatable.
Stop 7: Hua Hin – 3 Days
Traditional Thailand with a beachside feel
Back to the mainland, Hua Hin gives you a glimpse into royal Thailand, local markets, and a more chilled-out vibe.
What to do:
Visit the Cicada Night Market
See the stunning Phraya Nakhon Cave
Explore the royal Maruekhathaiyawan Palace
Hit up local street food stalls for authentic Thai eats
Vibe: Understated, friendly, and refreshingly non-touristy.
Stop 8: Pattaya – 4 Days
Wild nights + water fun
Pattaya is energetic and chaotic, but it’s also a fun break if you're into nightlife, beach sports, or a quick island escape.
What to do:
Take a day trip to Koh Larn (Coral Island)
Visit the all-wood Sanctuary of Truth
Watch a show at the Tiffany Cabaret
Party (or just people-watch) on Walking Street
Balance tip: Spend a day exploring local spots outside the tourist zones—it’s worth it.
Stop 9: Bangkok – 10 Days
The grand finale
Wrap up your trip in the buzzing capital city, where ancient temples meet modern malls and street food reigns supreme.
What to do:
See the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun
Cruise the Chao Phraya River
Explore the floating markets (like Damnoen Saduak or Amphawa)
Shop at Chatuchak Market and MBK
Take a day trip to Ayutthaya for a dose of history
Enjoy rooftop bars like Octave, Vertigo, or Tichuca
I know this is alot of days in Bangkok. But honestly you need it ,It has so much to do !
Tip: Use the BTS Skytrain & Metro to get around, and keep your eyes (and taste buds) open—Bangkok is bursting with surprises.
